July 4th

Usually on Fourth of July we are in our neighborhood hanging out with friends and watching every body do fireworks all around the hood.  Side note...our hood is like a fireworks show on CRACK.  Insane!  Unless of course, you have an Owen that barely will show his face around fireworks.  That has to listen to fireworks like this (doesn't even care that they are a girl color) just to SEMI enjoy them!

So this year we headed over to Mom and Dad's house for a little Fourth fun.  It has great to have Angela and her whole family there.  I love seeing Joe back involved with holidays and vacations with his whole family.  He was happy.  She was happy.  Everyone was just in a big love fest.  The kids were mainly happy because of this....

All the parents went in together and split a bouncer/water slide for the whole day.  We didn't tell the kids about it and made sure they didn't see it going up in the backyard.  Then they all walked back there at the same time to see it.  I was in the front yard and could hear all their squeals and yells and screams.  It was so cute:)  All 6 of those kids played on that thing for close to 9 hours.  They took about an hour break to do some "in the day" fireworks and then were right back on it.  Money well spent in my opinion!

The boys also got a special hair do for the festivities of the fourth.  Real mohawks.  The top is slightly too short but will grow out as long as I keep the sides good and shaved.  They loved them.  They loved them even more because Momma threw some blue hair dye into the mix also.  Good thing their hair grows incredibly fast because I don't think I would want them to start school with those hairdo's.  They are awesome for summer though!

Our family had a wonderful Fourth and I hope yours did too.  Happy birthday to the greatest country in the WORLD...Merica:)
