Rainy Days

What to do on rainy days? What to do? What to do on rainy days while you're home for Spring Break??? Thankfully, I had a lot of fun and different activities for Will to do this week since he didn't have to go to school. I am so glad I planned stuff because otherwise we would all just be sitting in the house going crazy seeing as how it is now Wednesday and is STILL raining outside!

Owen doesn't mind the rain or mud or dirt or drops of water hitting his face. He will go outside and play with anyone, any place, or any time! In fact this morning, at 7am, he set off the house alarm because he decided even though it was early, rainy, and cold that it was time to go outside and play. The alarm did it's job and woke up everyone still sleeping in the house! He didn't care...he went outside anyways like he didn't care at all the house was blowing the extremely loud horn sound!

That extremely loud sound prompted these two to come out all sleepy and confused looking:

Yeah!!!!!! One of the fun things I had planned for Will this week was for Aubree to come over and spend the night and have some play time with Will and Owen. Boy, did they have fun! Within 45 minutes of Aubree being here at Will's house they were already planning which night this week Will could go to her house to spend the night:) Note we went to Braum's after dinner last night for a little treat. Yes, I did get my small vanilla malt with double malt flavor. Yes, I ate the whole thing Yes, I am still on my diet and working out and have been very diligent so I thought one malt wouldn't kill me! I ENJOYED THAT DRINK! Anyway, notice Will's choice of dessert. NEVER in 5 years have I seen Will order a cone with vanilla ice cream. But because that is what Aubree ordered......He ate every bite and will probably never order it again unless she is with us:) Can you say follower????

Even with all the rain and cold weather they still had a blast. Now, on to make breakfast. They have all requested pancakes in the shape of a 2, 5, and 6. I'll let you guess why......

Once Upon a Trip to Lowe's

Saturday means home projects and errands in this household. Home projects means Lowe's. Nothing to slam Home Depot but they don't offer Steven 10% of your purchase for having served in the military. Shame on you Home Depot. Our business goes to Lowe's. Our business and our Owen goes to Lowe's:

Now, Owen did not actually use this toilet buuuuuttt he did tell me for 5 minutes before that he wanted to poop in it. Of course, that wasn't gonna happen so he just had to try it out for size and see if he wanted to purchase it for his home. He passed. Instead, he purchased this cool new contraption for Momma's kitchen:

My old one was shot and leaking even though it was only a mere 3 years old. (Probably came from Home Depot!)

Now another trip is due to Lowe's tomorrow to purchase black paint to fix this mistake:

If you can't tell...that's my stove minus the paint because I ruined it:( I got this brilliant idea today to clean the stove with oven cleaner. It actually worked AMAZING on the rest of the stove top...just not the side portion which I guess was covered in a different paint texture and could not take the cleaning ingredients from the oven cleaner. Yep, wiped right off! Note to self and other readers...2 very important pieces of information. 1. I'm not gonna say childbirth pains, although oven cleaner in a paper cut is extremely painful and 2. Never spray oven cleaner on a stove top until you have spot tested a tiny area first.

You can thank me later.

Fun with Boys

I know I always talk about how much fun boys can be. They are really fun (for the most part). They are dirty and smelly and gross too. Case in point...Owen firmly believes that the word "poop" is an actual letter in the ABC's. Why else include the word poop in your song every.single.time.?

Today Daddy was working late and I had to go to work so it was Aunt Kasey to the rescue. She said they were perfect boys and were outside most of the time. Not shocking to me. Here are the two most recent swing pictures of Will and Owen. I have big boy swings, but for some reason they both prefer the baby swings still. I don't care. They can swing in baby swings until they are too big and then I will be sad that that is yet another stage that has passed!

I posted a picture the other day of Will wearing super silly glasses. If you don't remember it looked something like this:
Owen was not to be outdone. He found another pair of fun glasses that we had stashed somewhere in the house and wore them proudly. As soon as he put them on he wanted me to take a picture of him in them because he had to show Daddy. How crazy is it that a 2 year old knows how to take a picture with my cellphone and then knows to tell me to text it to Steven so he can see it? Strange! Here is Owen's beauty shot in glasses:

My Silly Boys

Boys are silly. Boys are dirty. Boys are fun. Boys are rough. Boys still cry. Boys still want their Momma's. As long as these 2 boys still want their Momma when they are hurt or scared, I am fine with all the other above stuff. I have enjoyed this weekend getting to spend LOTS of hours alone with the boys since Daddy was at the Home and Garden Show all weekend. We parked it, ran errands, basketballed it, bowled it, played Bigfoot it, played camping it, and lots of other boy things. I love my boys both big and small:) Can I have my husband back though for one night?? That would be awesome!

A Lofty Goal...but a Goal Nonetheless!

In 18 short weeks we will be going here:
Destin, Florida. 18 weeks is not very long. Not very long to get this body back in some form of shape. I am not considered overweight, but totally am not where I was before birthing my two beautiful sons. I love them dearly but things are not in the same location they were 6 years ago. So...since we are going to the awesome state of Florida in 18 weeks I thought I should put a little action into my body again. 18 weeks folks. I want to look good in that swimsuit. More importantly, I want to be comfortable! I have set a goal for myself. I want to lose 20 pounds. 25 would be even nicer and would be the smallest I would want to get. I am sharing this with you all to hold myself accountable and to allow you to track my progress. For those of you that don't care about my progress you don't have to read about it:)

Week one I started running again. It's been over a year since I have ran. Embarrassing but true. I feel great while I am running and thought it was funny when I saw a friend post this on their Facebook. I feel like this when I run:
But more than likely I look like this:
My goal is to get myself back into a bikini. I am working on hard core/plank/ab work as well as running. If I can just be comfortable in a bikini that would be awesome. Hey, if I can look like this (this would take more than 18 weeks I am sure) I would be TOTALLY fine with it.
I figure if THIS lady can wear a bikini on the beach...I CAN TOO!2.6 p0unds the first week with a little diet change and exercise. 2.6 pounds closer to my goal, a bikini, and Florida. Wish me luck!!!

Another Ball I Forgot

Yesterday I blogged about balls in my house. This ball gets a whole blog just for itself. In fact, we have had two birthday parties for Will at this "Ball Place". Many friends and family remember Will's 3rd and 5th birthday parties that we had at the....BOWLING ALLEY. Yes, he takes after his dad, who at age 33, is the YOUNGEST bowler in his Monday night bowling league. Bowling and Will have gone way back and now he is just as into Wii Bowling and can beat almost anyone who attempts to take him on. Will's love of bowling is being passed on to his little brother too. Owen's job the last time we went to the alley was to check on the balls coming out of the shoot, make sure the right person got the right ball, and that no one smashed their fingers. He took his job seriously and did a great job!

This picture I found was not Will at his 3rd birthday but I think it was the summer right after that. I am guessing summer because of his super cute buzz cute and deep tan:) Well, as deep as a tan as a white boy can get!!!

Will's 4th birthday we were somehow blessed to avoid the bowling alley. His 4th birthday is when he was REALLY into football and beginning to love and understand all that football entails. Thus, football party for turning 4 was what we had.

By year 5, he still loved football (and continues to love it today) but was ready for another round at the alley with his friends. Bowling is such an important activity for this little boy...again just like Daddy:)

Now, this is where I was going with this blog earlier. Will thinks and talks about bowling even when he is not there or we have no plans to go in the immediate future. Will also thinks and talks about one other person all the time (not me or Nini)...but Aubree. His little friend from next door who moved away and he misses dearly. The other day he was in the kitchen drawing a picture. All blue of course because with Will it really could not be any other way. I went in to see what he was creating and he had drawn two people holding hands. One a boy and one a girl. One boy was holding a blue ball (take a wild guess) and the girl was holding a green ball. He then drew four little pins on the bottom of the page for the boy and girl to knock over with their pins. Next he placed his name proudly on the top and then asked me how to spell Aubree. He was so excited about his picture and wanted me to place it on the refrigerator right away! I was just surprised that he gave Aubree a ball color OTHER than blue. Notice it is the ONLY thing on the page that is not his favorite color. I asked him why her ball wasn't blue and this was his "duh, mom...." response: "cause my ball is blue and her ball has to be different so we won't fight!"

Boys and Balls

I know I have said this in the past but I don't know if anyone fully grasps it unless you are a mother to boys. Only boys. No girls thrown in there anywhere. If you have girls, you also have girl thing, thus not being able to add up to the shear amount of boy balls I have in this household. Balls, yes I said it. Not technically speaking (although there are a lot of those in this house too)...just balls in general. Basketballs, footballs, bouncy balls, small balls, large balls, exercise balls, light up glow balls, baseballs, golf balls, raquet balls, soccer balls, shooting out of guns balls...and the list could go on if I really thought about some more. I am just too tired to think of any more balls right now in my house. Yes, most of these balls are played with sports. All of which are played on a daily, if not hourly, basis in this house. Basketball, football, golf, t-ball, and even Wii Tennis. Here are a few pictures that prove how much ball playing and sport activity I have to endure in my own home. BASEBALL:GOLF: NOTE DADDY PARTICIPATING TOO!BASKETBALL:FOOTBALL:All I have to say is that I think I will be attending quite a few sporting events in the next 16 years! That's okay because I wouldn't want it any other way:)
