A Bunch of Randomness

These last few weeks have been so incredibly busy. I am basically a single mom now at least until the hit of Spring dies down. Steven has worked 60 plus hours for 3 weeks now! This means I am home with the boys/neighbor children every day of the week. I also am now watching a newborn (4 weeks old) for about 30 hours a week. More on that on a later post.

Last week Will had the opportunity to play with some of his best friends, Aubree and Paxton since they were home on Spring Break. Many days are spent outside, many in my house, many in their house, and sometimes I find them just like this:

Aubree and Will asked to watch a movie and for some reason they are ALL very into watching the movie in my bed as opposed to the living room. I started the movie, walked away for a few minutes, and then went back in to check on them (they were terribly quiet) and this is how I found all of them. My bad WAS made before all this went down. They decided to unmake the bed, climb in and get toasty, and finish the movie. Fun times!

This week the boys and I went for an outing to find Owen a purple shirt. Not too hard I thought for this time of the year. Spring, Easter...surely I can find a shirt with purple on it for Owen for a wedding next week. NOT! 5, count them 5, stores later with both boys in tow and way past nap time for Owen I found the dumb purple shirt at Old Navy. This was the store I originally thought that I should go first. But no, I tried Marshall's, Target, Kohl's, and Carter's before hand. No bueno. On the way into Old Navy Will commented on the Oklahoma Redbud's. Yes, he called them just that. I loves that they are called Redbud's but are actually purple right now. We stopped to take a picture until the beautiful state tree. Another Momma saw me taking Will's picture so she was nice enough to stop and take all of us under the tree. Here was the finished product:

And now introducing the newest member of Owen's closet...I thought you might want to catch a special sneak peek at his new shirt soon to be worn at Uncle Joey's wedding. He sure will look studly in this purple/white linen shirt. He better look studly after 5 stores, 2 kids, and who knows how much money on gas!!!!!!!

Fire Station Visit

Today we went to one of the local firehouses to visit and meet some of the firemen. The boys loved it and enjoyed it tremendously! We were able to go with cousins, Ava and Emma, and friends, Mason, Addison, and Lincoln. All the Momma's loaded up the kids and took them to the fire station. We walked in and saw the kitchen, living room, and sleeping quarters of the men. Next was the ambulance.

Will and Mason liked watching the stretcher coming out and pushing the buttons that raised and lowered it. Super cool! All the kids also got to see inside and all around a real firetruck. Of course, we all had to pose in front of the trip to document this special trip. Here are a few of the snapshots we took. Never mind that there is not one picture where all 7 kids are looking at the same time. I would like to meet the person that can accomplished that!

So maybe it wasn't the best idea to put the size 2, smallest, tiniest Momma in all the fire clothes. I think she almost fell over. That stuff was super heavy, hot, and smelled of smoke (who would have thought?) Next up, the brave ones had to try on everything as well. I was just proud of Will that he did not fall over backwards while trying on the helmet. He almost couldn't lift his head enough to even get a picture taken. It was pretty funny!

Now for the cutest picture of the whole day (in my opinion). This one was taken of my little O man. Nothing can stop him. Nothing can slow him down. Nothing can detour him from tearing apart something. Unless, maybe, it is a 20 pound fire coat:)

Table for 2 at Casa del Kueny

Don't they just look cute? I was tentative about allowing Owen to sit at the table unassisted but he actually did pretty well. I was sitting nearby eating so I could catch him if he decided to not pay attention and fall to the floor. Food was involved, so he was VERY focused on sitting at the table and being a "big boy".

Two of Will's best friends have one of these tables, Aubree and Mason. Will always comments on how cool he thinks their tables are. They are very handy for craft projects and for dinners when friends come over. They love having a fun kid table where they can all sit and samples each others food and sippy cups!

Tonight Will and Owen wanted to dine at their new table. They enjoyed every second of it and even ate pretty well considering how pumped they were about the new arrangement. Here they both are feasting on chicken and egg noodles at Casa del Kueny.

Keep Him Confined!!

You have often heard me refer to Owen as my "wrecking ball" or "tornado". I don't know if anyone can fully comprehend how true those names are for O until you spend a day in my shoes. My shoes that may or may not be in my closet. Most of the time my shoes are strewn about the house and reorganized thanks to the O man. Anyway, I digress.

Keeping Owen confined is the key to accomplishing things around this house. Keeping an almost 2 year old confined though is extremely difficult as you may guess. If you don't keep him confined this can happen....

This was ONLY while I was taking a shower this morning. Yes, I had the bathroom door shut but then Will decided he had to pee and of course left the door open, wide open, for little brother to come in and destruct something. I caught the little culprit in the act though and attempting to flee the scene. The proof of guilt is written all over his feet:)

Back to the story at hand. I MUST at least try to keep him in a closed in area as much as possible. He loves to watch me put on my make up and fix my hair. Today I thought I would try and take advantage of his loves. I placed him in my sink (I was right behind him the whole time getting ready)...don't worry! He stayed. He stayed put. I don't think that ever happens with O unless he is sleeping. Even then he moves around the crib like a crazy man in his sleep.

He loved it. He had already destroyed Daddy's hats (also while I was in the shower) and so he was wearing his favorite of the collection. I put him in there and he just stared at himself in the mirror and then decided it was time to "paint". I gave O his toothbrush and he went to town.

Yes, he has an adult size toothbrush that is HIS and only HIS. All he wants to do is chew and drool all over that thing. Yes, it made a huge mess. Yes, I had to Windex the mirror before it was all said and done. Was it worth it for 15 minutes of non-wrecking ball time? I think you can answer that question!!!!!

Spider Will

Owen is usually my poster child for "watch your children at all times because _____ might occur!" Today was Will's turn. We were outside enjoying the fresh breeze mixed with snot out of both noses (gotta love sick kids) and I turn my back for one second to attend to Owen eating dirt off the ground to find Will attempting this:

Of course, being the good mom that I am I made him hold his position so I could pull the dirt out of Owen's mouth and then run inside to get my camera. Good strength son! He said "Charlie" made him climb the house. "Charlie" is a whole other blog story though. Just found out about that one. I guess it's invisible friends time:)
