A Man and His Tools

Never mess with a man's tools. Or his car. What is it with tools? I don't get it and probably never will seeing as how I am female. I live with all males though (I know, poor me!) and all I see all day over and over is how different God made male and female. Case in point....Steven is working on laying tile on our kitchen and dining room floors. Of course, the boys find it their duties in life to help Daddy while he is doing any sort of project. This one is right up their alley because it is inside, out of the cold, not too loud, and right in the path of their favorite place in the house...the pantry. Tonight the grout spinner/mixer thing came out. Don't even ask me what it is really called because I wouldn't be able to tell you if my life depended on it. The boys knew what was up though. They saw a cool tool. They saw fantasy. They saw complete concentration on something totally male. They didn't notice me. They didn't notice food. They didn't notice their blocked pantry door. All they saw and focused on was this tool.

I know I am their Mom and I am supposed to love all thing and think everything they do is cute, but come on? Who doesn't think this is the funniest thing ever? Owen even went as far as touching the spinning metal thing. Daddy didn't stop him so I assumed that was okay with this tool. I guess I should learn more about male things just in case Daddy isn't watching so closely one day.

Every male gets tired though in his quest for home project completion. Once you get tired just pull up your Cars chair and take a load off. Steven accomplishes this with a beer and pretzel after long nights of laying tile. My other two little males just crash with something on a lighter scale like maybe a sippy cup of milk or a bottle. Gotta love them!

Why Yes, I DO Own a Buick!

I never thought that I would own a Buick. Well, maybe in my 60's! Not my 30's! Let me just tell you, though, we couldn't afford Lexus (total luxury) so we went with the next more affordable luxury which just happened to be a 2010 silver Buick Enclave. I am in love. I don't even know how to function with all the bells and whistles that this car possesses. It is going to take some learning time, some parking in Africa so know one will ding me, and some driving too slow everywhere I go. No one will think anything of that last one because they will figure that a Grandma is driving it anyways:)

More importantly, it is everything we wanted/needed in a car. We have researched for months, spent countless hours on the internet, shopped for hours, and prayed for just the perfect deal for our little family of four. Bam! Everything I wanted. Silver, leather, all power, bucket seats, XM radio, Bluetooth, heated seats, etc. I could go on and on about this new ride, but I won't bore you. Just want to say, "Thank you Jesus!"

An Oldie But a Goodie

Let's take you back 26 years. Can you remember 26 years ago? That makes me feel old, but I can remember it. I was 5 years old. My sister was 3. Our favorite thing to do was go to my Grandma's and play with her and all the fun things she had around her house and outside. Half the things were made up things, but we were girls and using our imagination was most of the fun. Someone found this picture and forwarded it to me. I was so thankful to see this picture. I don't have many of these around of my sister and me from that long ago. Who knows why we were in the back of a truck or what game we were playing, but I thought the picture was cute anyways. Cute if you pretend you don't see my bowl cut and my sister's mullet:) Ahh, the memories!

Christmas Number Three

Last Christmas celebration, I swear! This one we were in Norman to celebrate with Steven's side of the family. Craziness in a different way. More kids. Smaller house. Such a fun time though. The kids rarely fight (as compared to my side of the family) and they always have a blast together. Here are 6 of the 7 grandchildren all piled up for one photo shoot. Never mind Owen's nose picking. He is only 1:)

Eli is great with the kids and I am amazed all the time how much this little man is growing up. Still such a boy at heart though....

Owen really scored at this house. Two of his favorite things he got for Christmas. Teddy Grahams and Goldfish. Yes, the boy likes to eat:) He got other things as well, but his most important gift of the day came in the Sam's size box of his favorite snack!

Everyone has to have a weird, did that really happen, type of gift every Christmas right? Well, this year it was Monkey Butt. Don't even ask. Just Google it. Let me just tell you, it will probably come in handy next time either of these boys go on a vacation where a lot of walking occurs. Oh.....only Denise to give these types of gifts. Denise if you are reading...we LOVE YOU!!!!! Thanks for the Monkey Butt and the laughs:)

Christmas Number Two

Ava the little cleaner! She was helping with some of the mess after our 2nd celebration of Christmas. Christmas number two this year was with Mom and Dad, aka, Nini and Pappy. The kids LOVE this Christmas, of course, because it is toy mania. Stay up late mania. Eat whatever you want mania. Run around and yell crazy mania. Watch as many movies as you can mania. Are you getting the picture yet? Fun times! No really, we did have fun. Things and times just change though when you add four kids under the age of four into the picture:) One thing is always certain though; Ava will always take a picture with her favorite aunt/gymnastics teacher:

Not to be outdone by his cousin, Will had to get into the action:

Christmas number two was a total success. I am so very thankful for my family. They truly are a blessing to me and my family. Speaking of family, here is a shot of the fam at Christmas number two. Happy holidays. Ho Ho Ho to everyone:)

The Ringing Box

I love to be right. What can I say? Maybe it is part of being a woman? Maybe it is part of being human? I love to be right.

Case in point...last night during our little family of 4's Christmas celebration. Right in the middle of opening presents the phone rings. Steven answers it. He puts the phone on the floor (he said table). Not correct.

Later on in the night I realize I hadn't heard the phone ring all night. Strange. I thought back to where I had last seen it. On the floor during the craziness of opening presents. Steven picked up all the wrapping paper when it was all said and done and placed all the trash (and now we know phone) in a big box and put it outside at the curb. It was trash night.

I told Steven, after we had paged the phone for quite awhile with no sound coming from ANYWHERE in the house, that maybe, just maybe he threw it away by accident. Of course not! Why would he do that? He didn't do that? He put the phone on the table, right? Wrong! After more nagging on my part he finally decided to go grab the box by the curb just to prove me wrong. It wasn't in there!

I pushed the pager button one more time and LOW AND BEHOLD the box started to ring!!!!

Have I mentioned I love being right?? I love being right!

Christmas Number One

Christmas in the Kueny household arrived tonight since tomorrow begins our journey to both parents in Tulsa and Norman and a set of grandparents in Bartlesville. The boys were excited. Okay, really just Will. Owen looks thrilled in these pictures, doesn't he? He actually did enjoy helping Will open gifts and share in the experience. He could have cared less to be totally honest! He ate his gifts. Those were yummy. See what I mean?

Will was thrilled with his new Wow Wow Wubsy DVD and Max and Ruby DVD. Great! All I need in this house is two bunnies with no parents:) All Momma's out there know what that sentence means!!! Will is also very interested in coloring right now. We got him some fun coloring things to enhance his new skills. The boy has got some skills. He already knows how to stay inside all the lines. I am proud. Very proud. Here Will is proud of his new coloring experiments:

Before it all started there was peace. Pretty packages, no mess, and no trash everywhere. See...here is proof:

P-P-P-Poker Face

In the words of Lady Gaga, Will had his "P-P-P-Poker face" on during a tournament on Sunday. He LOVES, loVeS, loves, to play poker with his Daddy. I really don't think he knows what is truly going on, but then again, maybe he does? Normally poker just consists of counting the chips, organizing the chips by color, building chip towers, knocking down chip towers, and fighting with his brother over the previously stated chip situations! Sunday was all for Will and his love of poker. Sadly, the game ended for him at 8:30pm when I had to take him home. The ENTIRE way home he was crying that he didn't want to leave and he could stay up late with Daddy. Yeah right...Daddy didn't make it home till midnight. Don't think a 4 year old should do that:( He sure does love his betting!! Watch out Vegas....Will is coming (in 17 years).

Happy Birthday Mom!

Happy birthday to the best mom ever! Dr. Mom as we like to call her. She knows all fixes to all problem relating to your, your kids, your husbands health care:) We love her! The whole family got together after not seeing each other for about 3 weeks due to all the sickness in everyone's family (this time frame is a long time for our family!). We all went to Mom and Dad's house for the birthday celebration, which is really just for the kids at this point. Dad smoked ribs...delish! Mom made baked potatoes and salads. Yum yum! Angela made a chocolate on chocolate cake. Low carb/No card Mom actually ate some of this. It is always fun to get together with family and celebrate loved ones. We love our Momma:) Here is most of the clan together. I think the Dad's and Emma were off painting somewhere.....

Kentucky

Hello Kentucky! Hello Snow! Hello 9 Degrees! Hello ANDREA and FAMILY:) I had so much fun while I was there. Thank you to my friend of 20 years, Andrea Corbett, for buying me a ticket and flying me to see her and spend some quality time together. We had a blast! This day we decided to go cut down the Christmas tree. Never mind that it was snowing and bitterly cold that day:) I mean b.i.t.t.e.r. I made a joke that it was the fastest tree buying experience I had ever had. It really wasn't a joke. 10 minutes give or take and her hubby had that thing picked out and purchased and we were out of there! I had to stop and snap a shot of me with my version of the Charlie Brown Tree. I thought it was too cute to not have a picture with him. I also got one of Andrea with her two little ones, Gavin and Sabrina.

We did a lot of things those few days, had many conversations about the past, and some about the future. I am always amazed at what this woman can do. She runs a company, runs a home, and still maintains a great positive outlook about everything even in the face of extreme stress. I am so proud of her and and so thankful that we can call ourselves lifelong (20 years) friends. Thank you, Andrea, for the trip to Kentucky. I am so truly blessed to have you in my life!

My Little Man

Just a little post to brag about my little man. I love him with all my heart. He truly is such a sweet boy:) Poor guy has been suffering for 3 whole weeks with a head cold that turned into an ear infection only to be followed up with 3 days of the stomach flu. Yes, he is attached to me at the moment and only wants his Momma most of the hours in the day, but he endured all this sickness and still found a way to smile about it and be loving to all those around him. Today we ventured out to Lowe's with the family. He loved being able to walk around and "talk" to people and actually be in civilization again today! After Lowe's we went on an appointment with Daddy. Owen thought it was so cool that he could get out of his carseat and move around the truck without having to be strapped in. He was cheesing it up for the camera so I thought I would snap how happy he looked on his first real outing in almost a week. I love my tough trooper:)

Bathtime

Don't all families have one or more of these type's of shots? If you don't, don't tell me because I just love sibling photo's in the tub:) I know I can remember seeing ones of my sister and me when we were little! Memories....

Last night I decided to snap some photo's of the boys together in the tub. There have been many baths taken here lately with all the sickness going around. I figured you didn't want to look at pictures of them puking or having explosions in their pants (sorry if that's too much t.m.i.) so I snapped some of them playing together and hamming it up in the tub. Look at Owen's pink cherub cheeks. Doesn't that just make you wanna squeeze them and give him a big slobbery kiss???

Rhema 2010

Merry Rhema season to everyone out there! Last night we went to visit Rhema for the first time this holiday season. I think most of Broken Arrow and Tulsa also had the same idea. The place was beyond packed. You could hardly stop for one second to take a picture with the amout of people everywhere. Once you stopped to snap a shot, you started to hold up all the other 200 people in line behind you. Craziness!! The boys loved it though and were in awe of all the beautiful lights, sounds, and people. We sure had a lot of fun and I am sure we will go again! Merry Christmas everyone!

Ho Ho Ho

He willingly went! I didn't pressure him. In 4 years of his life Will has never wanted to be near Santa. Not even the fake ones at Lowes. Today, he walked right up to him, picked a table beside the big man, sat down and started eating like he wasn't scared in the least. He wanted to go touch him, talk to him, and listen to him Ho Ho Ho. Strange. Never thought this day would come.

Will even went as far as to want to hold hands with Santa. This I couldn't believe. Hold hands with a fake, somewhat scary looking pretend Santa but then be freaked out to high heaven over the real not so fake Santa at Bass Pro? Who knew?

I asked him if he wanted to finally try and sit on Santa's lap tonight when we went to Bass Pro. He thought for a second and said, "I better not. He's a little scary." Oh well...baby steps.

Snip Snip Owen

The time has finally arrived for Owen to get a haircut. I looked in Will's baby book last night before we set off to take O and W had already had 3 haircut's by the age of 16 months! Owen's hair took a little longer to fill in. He really only needed one patch in the back of his head trimmed up. That thing stuck out like a crazy man:) He was a good boy. Not great, but not horrible. He was not too interested in sitting and STAYING in my lap. When he wants to be held, fine, when he doesn't want to be held, not fine. All was well in the end though with a big smile, kiss from Momma, and a sucker. All was right in the world again and the crazy man patch in the back was gone!
