The Excitement of a Child

To a 3 year old the simple act of playing with $1.50 Play Doh seems to give them as much excitement as a brand new toy. I snapped this picture today while Will was building new objects with his dough. The joy in little ones' faces often reminds me to stop and be thankful and enjoy the little things in life that God gives us. He is growing up so quickly. I just can't believe it!

Happy Birthday Shout Out!

Happy 29th to my sister, Angela! I remember just yesterday when I was changing her diapers. No, really I don't. Those must have been Owen's! We all went to Mom and Dad's for our annual feast and cake birthday celebration. Angela ordered smoked brisket, baked potatoes, baked beans, and cake. No, not just any cake...it has to be the $300 red velvet Merritt's cake (that tastes just like Sam's cakes to me)! She loves it though, and I guess that is all that matters on her special day. The night was spent with screaming kids, both having fun and yelling at each other, tears (by the kids), laughs by all, full belly's, games, and kids crying when the party was over. Oh, did I mention that my family is the absolute WORST at singing the birthday song? We mentioned that it sounded like a nursing home version. It's the thought that counts, right? I think she had fun, I know I did, I know the kids did. I am sure Mom and Dad are still cleaning. Happy 29 Angela. Hope it's a great one. I love you! Love, Your OLDER sis:)
