Tulsa Run Here I Come!

You have to hold me accountable if you are reading this blog. 9.3 miles is a long way to run for someone like me. I guess it is a long way to run for anyone unless you are a marathon runner (which I am NOT!). I really want to do this though and have already begun my training for the run which is only a short 70 days away. Actually it is only 69 days, 22 hours, and a few minutes away, but who's counting?

I figured if I could push a 70 pound stroller, running and walking, for 3 miles I guess I could actually run that whole time if I didn't have a stroller. So, this morning I started my training bright and early while the whole house was still asleep. 40 minutes later and I had run my 3 miles! No laughing, I might be slow but I GET IT DONE!

Thanks to my wonderful friend, Amanda, for running with me and being my training partner for this race. We each have 2 kids and part time jobs, and being full time mommy's and wife's, but we are holding each other up to this and encouraging each other and believing we can do it in our short time of training while holding all these other important responsibilities together!

So, say a short prayer for me that I will hold fast to my 69 days of training...this means Zumba on Monday nights (also no laughing here!) and lots of running, walking, cardio, treadmill....uuuggg!!! October 30th will come and and when it is the 31st I will be able to look back and scream....I DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!

M & M Madness

Yesterday as I was putting Owen down for a nap...I came out of the room to find THIS! This picture doesn't capture the blue hands, fingernails, teeth, tongue, or couch where he was sitting. I guess Will took it upon himself to have a good ole' blue M & M party! All he wanted to do was suck the color off of each one and then throw away the actual candy. Needless to say...his fingers and fingernails still have a slight blue tint to them today:)

Gotta Get Me Some Joyce!

This weekend at our church Pastor preached on being cleansed, having a clean spirit, surrounding yourself with clean people, and getting into the Word to stay cleansed. Joyce Meyer immediately came to my mind. I love listening and learning from her. She is such an example to women and men how to live the kind of life that Jesus wants us to live. She is easy to understand, applicable to my life, and on almost around the clock and on all channels:)

Being a mom to two little ones makes it difficult sometimes to carve out time for myself and for God. Thank you to COTM this weekend for teaching and showing me how to become a better momma, wife, sister, and daughter. I have to take care of myself spiritually before I can be anything to anyone else.

Now...only if I could get myself on that treadmill! Maybe with a little Joyce going at the same time......

Kiddie Park Fun!

Yay Kiddie Park! Will and his Daddy has so much fun on the roller coaster, Little Fire Ball! I remember riding this same ride, as many others, when I was little just like Will. I can't believe how little the actual park was because as a little girl I just remember this place being huge! It is funny how age and perspective changes things:)

The very first ride he rode was the boats. The teenager in charge of the boats dropped my child in the water on his very FIRST ride! Great thing he had on Crocks so his little feet didn't stay wet all night. He didn't fall totally in the water but did fall in enough to get his pants wet too! Oops! He didn't seem to mind though. He just jumped right in the boat and rode all over the "lake":) We went with his friends, Mason and Addison (if you see other children in pictures that is who they are).

Next, it was onto the airplanes. Will was very serious about most of the rides. I think he believed he was truly driving the cars and flying the planes. See what you think?

Before the Kiddie Park we went to eat at the very popular Dinks BBQ! That place never disappoints! The kids loved their food and finished up with blowing bubbles in their parents' cups! Didn't we all do that growing up?

Owen, as usual, was a great baby throughout the whole evening. It was waaayyy past his bedtime, he was too small to ride any rides but the train at the end of the night, and he still can't walk so he was stuck either in our arms or his stroller. Not one peep out of him the whole time, not one tear, not one cry, not one complaint! He was perfect. He sat and watched all the activity around him the whole time. Sometimes he got out and got to sit with Momma while we waited for brother on another ride. This is the view Owen got to see all night!
