DLC Camp

This week Will went to a camp at Discovery Learning Center.  He loved it!  It was only 4 days long but he wanted it to be longer!  He really enjoyed himself and getting to spend some time with his boy cousins.  Jared was not able to attend the camp because he was gone all week to a REAL camp somewhere in OKC.  Jared just got back today and made it just in time to see his cousin Will and brother Jack in the "parade" put on by all the kids who attended the camp.  Will crawled all over Jared the second he saw him and wouldn't let him out of his sight.  I guess he missed seeing him this week!

Most mornings before school would start I would get there a little early so all the boys could play on the playground.  This was just one of the pictures I snapped of Owen and Jack.  Jack is 5 and Owen is still 3 but they are just about the same size!  My boy is going to be a giant tall man I do believe!

Will had so much fun he is already asking about DLC's camp next summer.  He already informed me that he wants Jared and Owen to go next year to make it "even more funner."  Too bad they don't work on English skills at this camp....

Tulsa Drillers Night

Last night we took the boys to their first Tulsa Drillers baseball game.  Owen could have cared less.  Will loved it.  I could have told you those end results the moment we mentioned going to the game.  We decided agains't purchasing actual seats because once we found out there was a park and a splashpad I knew both kids would be running around and wanting to play more than watch the game.  I am so happy we decided to purchase "sitting on the hill" tickets.  Those were $15 for our family as opposed to $40 for actual seats that our butts would have never even been in.

Will's favorite thing was standing by the back fence with his glove and waiting for home run's to come whizzing by so he could catch them. That never even came close to happening.  By inning 5 he was done waiting and had gone to the park with Owen.  After I snapped his pictures I read the sign he was standing directly beside.  "Please do not stand along railing."  Oops.  For someone who loves to read, I really missed that one!

Owen was pretty much gone before the "National Anthem" even played.  Seriously.  I was standing there with Will, hands over our hearts, and Steven was already off watching Owen in the water park.  Between the water park, the park, watching the game, rolling on the hill, playing catch with random children on the hill, pausing for 5 minutes to eat Dippin' Dots...Owen was worn out at the end!  Here are a few snaps of his evening.

Just a little public service announcement for anyone thinking about going to a game.  1. Children under 3 are free.  You better believe that even though Owen is only 3 for one more month we used that.  We got some looks and some questions about whether or not he was REALLY 3.  People, I would just pay the $5 if I needed to.  He's not 3.  He's just tall.  I will continue to have to say that his whole life I believe.  2. Have them wear a swimsuit with water shoes.  3. Bring a towel (for the kids) and a blanket to sit on for you. 4. If you like beer wait till the 6th inning.  They go on sale for $1 each.  5.  Eat at Fat Guy's right before.  It's just good.

That's all my useful information.  Enjoy the Drillers (even though they probably will not win because I think Will's 6 year old baseball team is better).

Dino Golf Minus the Dino

Summer is busy around these parts.  I mean, a little too busy for my liking.  Here it is already a month in and this is the first time I have blogged since school got out.  I try to do many fun and exciting things throughout the summer with all my boys.  Sometimes that just means going to the pool for 3 hours.  They love that just as much as almost anything else so I guess that is good for me since our pool is free in the neighborhood.

All last week both boys went to a VBS during the morning hours.  I tried not to keep them up too late in the evenings due to the fact that I had to wake Will up almost every day still just to make it out the door in time.  No super fun activities to blog about from last week.

Friday night was different.  They have been asking for MONTHS to go to Dinosaur Golf.  For all my local friends that is the mini golf course on Interstate 169 and 61st street.  Dinosaur Golf you ask?  Yep.  There are NO DINOSAUR'S on this course.  I had no idea why they continually called it that.  No idea until I finally just asked Will. He remembered a time (almost 2 years ago) when we went to Branson and he golfed a mini course for the first time.  That course did have a
dinosaur on it, so naturally, he just figured every mini golf course in the world had one.  Bummer...this one did not but they still had an awesome time!

I thought we would burn up and even though it was hot for the first bit we cooled off once entering the caves.  Those caves were magical for Will.  He got his first hole in one on hole #10.  He was pumped!  Notice the sweat sheen on his face:)

Owen did great too.  We were a little nervous (for obvious reasons) and we stressed the importance of NOT losing your ball.  I know accidents happen but we just wanted him to know not to do it on purpose.  After your first ball they charge you for lost balls.  He did awesome till hole #11.  Hit it a little too hard (not on purpose) and it flew into the water.  Slightly sad.  I have him my ball to share on hole #12.  He put it down to get a drink and it rolled right into the water (again not on purpose).  Even though he lost 2 balls Steven and I were proud of him because he really did try, was on his best behavior, didn't throw a fit when the balls were lost (Steven was able to save my ball!), and was very patient the whole night.

Happy Summer All!!!
