And the Party Continues.....

Happy birthday to my little man, AGAIN! Owen had his party this weekend. Lots of family and friends showed up and he had a grand time. Here he is eating his first birthday cake. Overall, I don't think he got as messy as some kiddos do. His Aunt Rachel was super sweet and scooped him up, bathed him, and got him in another outfit before it was time to open gifts. Will opened all his gifts for his brother. All Owen really cared about was playing/touching/looking at his balloon. You will see this in action in the below photo:

It takes a lot of patience, you know, for a 3 1/2 year old to wait for his brother's party to start. What did Will do to fill the time until the party you ask? Why, he dressed like Woody of course:)

Happy Birthday to My Little Man

Well, he did it! Owen has now lived one whole year in this here world:) Sometimes, I can't believe it myself! I truly do not enjoy the newborn/baby stage all that much. I know that might sound cold of me, but these ages are not what I find enjoyable. Owen, though, has made me rethink that statement. He is completely and totally one of the easiest most carefree, loving, caring baby anyone could ask for. He makes me smile on a daily basis, he loves his brother unconditionally, and adores his parents fully! He makes my heart sing (okay, that sounded like Kai Lan for mom's out there)!

We went to Nini and Pappy's house tonight for his birthday. His actual party is this weekend so his Daddy can be in attendance. N and P will be out of town for their anniversary (happy anniversary Mom and Dad!) so they invited us over tonight to do some special things for Owen. He got a birthday gift (that his brother promptly opened for him) and a treat of a birthday dessert. He devoured that thing:)

The boys love playing with their Pappy. He fills in for Daddy when Daddy is gone on trips. Here they are taking a shot together right before we left. This was taken after the boys and Pappy had played "bed" for a good 15 minutes. Those of you who don't know what "bed" is...it is just boys being boys being thrown around, tickled, tackled, and everything in between. Owen gets in there and takes part just like he is a grown boy. He has no fear.

This picture leads me to what happens to my boys once they leave......

7:45pm, sun blaring on them both...knocked out cold! Thank you for the festivities Nini and Pappy and HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my precious little man, Owen Michael Kueny!

What a Difference a Year Makes

I was looking at some pictures today and I noticed how things slowly change and you don't even realize it. Now, looking back, those pictures seem so long ago. These were taken of Will last summer. It was right after we brought Owen home for the first time. Owen had to be only about a week old when these were snapped of Will. My big boy has changed so much in just one year. I look at him now and notice he is taller, and has lost even more "baby fat" from a year ago that I still saw in his sweet cheeks! Take a look and see if you can notice the difference from the two top shots and then the two recent shots of this summer that I have just taken. What a Difference a Year Makes is so TRUE!!!

"Sponge Mike Meets Fashion Man"

For those of you who don't know, my dad's name is Mike. For those of you who don't know my dad, my son looks just like him. For those of you who know my dad, but don't think Owen looks like him...you are blind. I took this picture of the O Man tonight in his car seat. My dad saw it and said, "There's Sponge Mike!" We call Owen Spongebob because he smiles all the time, ear to ear, with these huge teeth everywhere. I guess he truly is a combo of Mike and Spongebob, hence the name Sponge Mike! What do you think????

Will, on the other hand, looks nothing like his Pappy. He totally looks like his Daddy but with his Momma's eyes. He is like Steven in so many ways, that sometimes I just look at him and the expressions he makes, the way he stands, the way he talks and I think to myself, "God forbid if anything should ever happen to my hubby, I would still have a major part of him watching Will grow up." There are times though when Will is all Mommy! He loves to help me apply my make-up (we don't speak of this around Daddy). He loves to try on my shoes and hats. Steven surprised me with a new hat tonight that I had been admiring for awhile. Will apparently loved the hat too because he had to wear it all the way home. I snapped this picture of him hamming it up in the car in "his" new hat! What a doll baby:)
