On the first day of our vacation we traveled to Vicksburg MS. We decided to stop there and let the boys play some, run some, swim some, and relax before hitting the road again the next day for Florida.
We decided to visit the Vicksburg Civil War Site. The boys didn't get it and didn't understand why there were canons everywhere and why there were memorials and headstones to the thousands of people that died in this war. It was still good to take them there and show them this beautiful land and "attempt" to teach them about what happened on these very hills. They just wanted to run the hills.
I couldn't help but think of all those sad Mom's and Dad's after seeing all the headstones of these kids (just young boys) that were killed in this war. So sad, but so beautiful too. The hills are rolling, the grass and trees are a lush green, the sky is amazingly blue, and the sounds are so peaceful and quiet. We enjoyed our experience in Vicksburg very much!
The day before we left for Florida we had Owen's birthdayparty. I will let you guess....He wanted it at Bass Pro. He is my outdoor, bug, dirt, fish, boat, camping, hunting, fishing lover of a boy. Bass Pro was the perfect location for his birthday. I was glad it was not at our house because I was busy packing and cleaning for our trip the next day.
This day was all about Owen though. He loved his party. He enjoyed
seeing all his friends and family and even ate some of his Avengers birthday cake (usually he doesn't eat cake because he is already too busy moving onto something else).
He got some great boy gifts like fishing poles, Superman capes, real hermit crabs, a watch to store bugs, a bug vacuum to catch the poor bugs, and many ironman, spiderman, batman men to play with.
After his party was over we went outside to try out his new pole at the Bass Pro Pond. He didn't actually catch anything, Daddy caught two small ones, but Will had his largest catch ever. He caught a 1/2 pound bass. He was so excited. They all were!
Happy 4th birthday Owen Michael Kueny. You keep me on my toes but I love every second I have with you and wouldn't trade you for the world!
The time has come to sell anotherone of our flip houses. This one was bought in May and we had it ready to be put on the market yesterday. The sign is in the yard, the whole house is cleaned, and it is ready to move!
I know I shouldn't get so involved in these houses. After all, they are not "mine". I kind of feel like they are though. I spend so much of my time picking things, designing things, deciding what stays and what goes, new colors, old colors, new ceilings floor and walls. I wish I could hand pick the kind of people I would want to buy our creation when we are all done.
Steven just wants to sell it.
Sell it and move on to another. I wanna sell too...I just want to sell to someone who's going to love it, take care of it, continue to improve it, and NOT TRASH it like the people who owned it before. I mean, this house literally had a golf club taken to doors, closets,
walls, cabinets. That's how mad the previous owners were when they found out they were being evicted. Of course, we fixed all that but come on!
I think the house turned out great and we are already on our way to attempting to buy flip house #3. It's a buyers market right now. We will go look at a potential house and want to put in an offer only to find it has already sold. Keep your fingers crossed there will be a #3 soon!
Local people if you want to check it out the address is 6437 s 87th e ave, Tulsa Ok. Right by Woodland Hills Mall. 4 bed, 2 bath, 2003 square feet. $149,900.
Will has had a rough week. He has been fighting a nasty viral infection that landed him in the doctors office and on a couch for three days. He ran the highest fever of his life at almost 103 degrees on Wednesday. I am so thankful that he was healed within 3 days and felt better to have his first outing of the week on Friday.
I invited one of his best friends from Kindergarten to go to dinner with us at our favorite Mexican. Speedy Gonzales. Super yummy! Then we headed off for some mini golf. You can see why our boys like their boys. They are both 3 and 6. Perfect play partners. Faith and I were laughing throughout the night because Gavin and Owen and Will and Brody were the pairs that hung out most of the night. That's not how we thought it would go. It all worked out though and the kids (and the parents) all had a great time.
I am so thankful for the friends and families God puts into our lives. We are blessed with amazing relationships and this family is just another example. Thanks for a great night guys and we are looking forward to Friday already!
Where has the time gone? Almost 3 years ago they looked like this. So cute, cuddly, and little still. Now, they are tall. Big. Won't let me hug them in public. Mason still lets me, Will won't:( I know I will look back and think they are still small today at the age of almost 7. It's not 3 or 4 though. They are too big for my liking.
Today I took the boys to the zoo. Probably not the wisest decision I
have ever made since it was 100 degrees. But hey, when is it ever gonna
be cooler than that in Oklahoma in the summer. Gotta go sometime right? Owen had school today so I took advantage of having only 2 boys and not 3. We packed lunches, waters, sunscreen, and I created two scavenger
hunt lists and off we went.
These boys have grown up
together. They were born only 3 weeks apart because Amanda had the joy of going into labor early while I was still pregnant with Will 10 DAYS after my due date. No hard feelings. Seriously none. Okay...maybe some. These boys love each other and have so much fun together when they get to spend it doing something fun, not fun, sporty, not sporty, church, not church. They just have fun all the time they are together.
I think the funniest part of the day was when we sat down to eat lunch. Mason pulls out a rice cake with peanut butter on it. My kid pulls out a turkey sandwich, fruit, and a granola bar. Here I was
thinking I was actually packing Will something semi-nutrious! Amanda had to beat me ONCE AGAIN on something:) So, to even out the playing field I let Mason indulge in some Uber Non Healthy cotton candy. He even ate about 80% of it. There. Got ya back Amanda!
My sister found this cool new app (that might not really be new but is new to us) called Pic Stitch. In this app you can download and pick from your phone or your computer or Facebook. I like that you can seamlessly move from phone to computer to Facebook all while searching for the perfect picture to complete your collage. She made this one for me in minutes to show what it can do. It also shows why we have been called "night and day" our whole life's! I love my sister!
If I could live anywhere in the USA (besides where I live) I would chose Florida. In a heartbeat. If my family, friends, and church could move with me, I would move tomorrow. In a flash. I wouldn't have to live DIRECTLY on the beach but a short 5 minute walk or drive would do. I wouldn't have to live in the super touristy areas, just anywhere near a Florida beach (preferably Gulf side) will do. I am not picky. Nor am I rich...so I guess Florida is just gonna have to be a vacation destination right now. July 21st can not get here quick enough!!!

I'm not sure how he does it or even why he would want to but my dad WILLINGLY takes all the grandkids as often as his schedule allows. Many times he has done just 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 all at once. Never has he done all 6 before. So last night, after about 12 hours of all the kids being at his house for July 4th he gets the brilliant idea of taking all 6 kids today to go eat lunch, bowl, arcade, and then to QT to fill up on sugar/drink/more sugar food fix. I have to hand it to him, he can manage 6 kids with a breeze. Too bad all the husbands are fixed and no one else can pop out another grandchild. I think this man could handle 7 or 8 or 9 at a time. People stare at him in amazement as they watch this 50 year old something man handle 6 kids under the age of 8 with a breeze. I know I couldn't do it, wanna do, please don't sign me up to do it. The kids love it though. They love their Pappy and I know why. This man is a Saint. Thanks dad for sharing your love (and money) so willingly with these kids. We all love you!
