A certain boy had ANOTHER birthday party last weekend! Talk about the luck to have TWO parties in your honor:) Since we were in Florida for his actual birthday we still wanted him to be able to get together with local family and friends to celebrate. So, last Saturday we had a little splash pad/park party. It's pretty easy to find party locales for kids with summer birthdays. For that, I am thankful because by the time of dead winter and Thanksgiving for Will's birthday it's never this easy.
We all gathered on Saturday night and have a bounty of delicious sugary super hero desserts. How yummy do these look? I noticed that not only the kids were liking them but quite a few adults too!!
He loved all his presents of the night and of course just having the freedom to run and play, get wet, dry off, get wet again. All his presents were great and we have played them ALL this week many times over. There was one that stood out to him that he has played with and pretty much never put down for going on 3 days now. Wolverine claws. Yep, my son loves all things super hero and this present was no different. I knew my mom and dad were getting these for him so I purposely made them be the last gift of the night. Good thing because he wouldn't take them off the rest of the evening. We caught him trying to be all "Edward Scizzorhands" on some bushes at the park, stabbing the tree bark, and running around making claw sounds the rest of the night at the party.
Look at that cute smiling face everytime he has the claws on. I love it. Thank you all who came to celebrate Owen either in Florida or in Oklahoma. Everyone has totally made his 5th birthday one to remember. Happy birthday O Man!
