Being a Bulldog Footballer

See that little scrawny skinny thing standing over there with the number 4 on his back?  That's Will!  He is now a Lincoln football player.  This year has been a big adjustment for him with moving from flag to tackle and changes schools from public to private.  He's handled it well (we've had some bumps in the last few weeks) but I feel as we are getting over the humps with this one.  Owen is another story and another blog all together:(

Saturday's in our house used to be for sleeping in and taking it easy (Sunday's too for that matter) but for the next 8 weeks our weekends will be filled with tackle football on Saturday's and Fall Ball Baseball Double Headers on Sundays.  The life of a boy mom.

Nothing makes me more proud than to watch my kids overcome fears, to not quit, and to step into something without giving up and attempting to try something even though they have never done it before.  That's what Will is doing with tackle football and I was so ready for this past Saturday to get here so Will could play through some of those fears.  He needed to get that first game under his belt.  He needed some more confidence when it came to tackling and running.  He needed more and he got it and for that I am so thankful.  His team won with a game one victory of 25-0.  Not too shabby!  The other Lincoln 2nd grade team also won 30-0.  Way to go Bulldogs!

To celebrate another week of school in the books and a weekend full of sports we did what any other family would do when you already play TOO MANY SPORTS.  We went to play Dodgeball.  Let's just say Will got a little beat up this weekend but his words to me on Sunday night were "I had a blast!"  That's a successful weekend in the books for the Kueny's folks!
