Today both of my boys had their Thanksgiving feasts at school. Will's was first at 11am. He was all decked out in his hat, noodle necklace, and pilgrim vest. Several parents had gotten there early to set up 26 plates for the kids, open juice boxes, and help decorate. Will was very excited to see Owen and I walk in. I had told Owen earlier not to be upset because he wasn't going to be able to eat at this feast. His was an hour later. He asked a few times for some bites of his brother's but for the most part, he just pulled up a chair (he literally did it himself) and talked with Will's friends and entertained the table. Will just smirked at his brother and silently finished his lunch. They are beyond different!
Will made a placemat for today's occasion also. I got a big kick out of it. The teacher didn't tell the kids how to spell their words. She made them sound it out and figure out which letters formed the words. I think Will did a pretty good job of "spelling" for an early Kindergartener. If you were wondering...the five things he was thankful for were: his bed, daddy, momma, school, and football. The last one is hard to diciver but football it was:)
Not an hour later we moved onto Owen's feast. Owen doesn't even go to school on Monday's but his teachers didn't want to leave him out so they invited him for the 45 minute feast portion of the day. I thought that was very thoughtful of them! Owen was excited about his turkey hat and pilgrim vest. Of course, he wasn't too hungry since he has just finished mooching off of his brother's plate 45 minutes before! We were there an hour and in that time I was able to take only 2 pictures of Owen. He was eating in both. This boy is a Fournier through and through! Kueny personality, Fournier stomach! Happy early Thanksgiving to everyone!
