Bowling with Friends

This morning the boys got to spend some time with their old friends Aubree and Paxton.  They used to do everything with them about 6 days a week since they were our neighbors.  Now that they live in Owasso and each family owns their own businesses we are pretty busy people.  Today they got to go bowling together.  Aubree and Paxton even had a new sister, Ella, since they have been neighbors.  Ella will be 2 this spring and the boys have only seen her a few times.  They each had a blast seeing each other, bowling, and playing in the arcade.  I think the arcade was actually the biggest hit of the day.  It's really cool to say you have been friends with someone since they were born.  Aubree and Will have been close for that long now.  Crazy!  Time flies and they grow older.  Here is a picture of them playing together almost 3 years ago.  Will was about 3 1/2 here.  Fun times with friends on a Saturday.  They loved it!

Christmas Part Two

We braved the "weather" and drove to Norman anyways to celebrate Christmas with Steven's family Monday-Wednesday.  More on the "weather" later.

Denise is always so good to volunteer to watch the boys for us if we wanna go out and have a date while in Norman.  We left on Monday and went to see a movie since we didn't know if we were going to be able to leave on Tuesday due to "snow".  Steven found this Hitchcock poster for a new scary movie coming out and decided he would practice his skills at acting.  He did pretty well.

The boys love to come to Nana and Poppa's house because they enjoy playing with both of them so much and all their cousins.  There is always someone to play with, either big or small, and they never get bored.  It's a weekend when I am not really needed because either Eli, Nana, Poppa, Sophie, Lola, or Rachel are taking care of things.  I love that:)

So, this is the reason we were thinking we wouldn't be able to leave on Tuesday.  Monday night when we went to bed the weather men were saying 5-8 inches of snow with 25-35MPH winds.  Not something fun to be out in on Christmas day.  We have a tradition though at the Kueny house that someone, not everyone because of the kids, but usually some one's get to go to a movie for a few hours.  This Christmas the movie selection was poor (we all agreed on this) so Steven and I found one that we were wanting to see at the Dollar Movie.  Nice one!  Too bad the movie was terrible....End of Watch with Jake Gyellenhall (not even worth the $2)We braved this 1 1/2 inches of snow like it was nothing though.  That "blizzard" of Christmas 2012 wasn't going to stop us from wasting $2 and 2 1/2 hours of our lives.  No way Jose!

We each walked away with some pretty awesome gifts.  I think the best one was Bob suprising Denise with a super special trip to New York City this Spring.  She has always wanted to go and has never gone.  All the kids went in together and purchased both of them some much needed luggage and Rachel included a NYC subway map inside the luggage to give away the present.  Nope, Nanna was still not getting it.  Bob just finally had to say "I'm taking you to New York City.  You pick the date."  Then the tears came and she finally realized.  It was fun to watch!

Also fun to watch were the boys getting their gifts.  They loved everything they got but I had some favorites that I knew they were super excited about.  Owen got an OU jersey, which he put on immediately and wore till pajama time. alligator Stompeez, and a few other small things.

Will got art supplies, paint, paint brushes, easel paper, a neat golf game (that hs loves playing with anyone who breathes), and a Bigfoot shirt.  I loved that shirt and made him proudly display it on his chest right away.  It's hard not to become "A Believer" in this house and family because of all the Bigfoot facts and talks.  I am still holding on though to not believing.  Don't know how much longer that will be the case........

A Fournier/Franco/Kueny/Enabnit Christmas

Yes, we really had that many last names for tonight's Christmas get together.  Mom, Dad, Angela and her girls (and Joe via facetime at 2:30am his time), Kasey, and my family all went to Mom and Dad's for some opening presents and hanging out with family time.  It was great seeing all the kiddo's opening their gifts and immediately trying everything out.  I think Owen's favorites were the Hulk hands (Thanks Franco family) and the Spiderman shoes (Thanks Nini and Pappy).  Watch out Momma's house with those Hulk hands.  Owen was bad enough before...now he's just gonna be plain dangerous.

Angela and I exchanged gifts as well. One of the things we got each other was tshirts off of Etsy.  I knew mine was coming but she didn't know that I found her a super cool OSU tshirt off the same site.  Go Pokes and Sooners!

I thought this was a cute picture because Will looks so big sitting next to Pappy.  His legs are getting so long and he is growing up way too quickly for my liking.  His favorite gifts tonight pretty much all included numbers.  He loved his digital watch and would tell anyone who was around what time it was ALL NIGHT.  Even tonight as I was lying him down to sleep he rolled over and said, while pushing on his Indiglo button, "It's 8:06.  Time for bed!"  He also got a calendar (also numbers) which he couldn't wait to get home and place every family member or friends birthday on all 12 months.  He hung it on his wall proudly and is anxiously awaiting the first birthday in January which is his Uncle Joey on the 21st.

Steven and I got some of our favorites.  Academy, Old Navy, Target, Lids, Bass Pro, and LOTS of candy, candy bars, gum, jelly beans, and mints.  I love stocking stuffers like deoderant, shaving cream, lotions, and chapstick because it's all stuff I would have to buy anyways and now I don't have to!  Awesome:)

Do you like all three of us and our "model poses"?  Angela was trying to pull off the "stick your lips out pose" and Kasey and I were attempting the "be all serious and look beautiful at the same time" pose.  There is a reason why none of us are models....Not our thing!

I don't mind posing with this guy though.  12 1/2 years of marriage and 15 1/2 years together and we still look pretty good together.  Hope everyone had a great Christmas with their friends and family.  Look for still ONE MORE blog about yet another Kueny Kristmas coming up very soon!

Buddy the Kueny Elf

This year we decided to do "Elf on the Shelf".  He's a cute elf.  I bought the stuffed animal type elf instead of the traditional skinny "Elf on the Shelf".  Same concept and everything about him is the same but I just thought he was cuter and softer than the really tan skinny looking Elf.  Sorry Elf.  I like my stuffed soft one better:)

I will spare you 25 pictures of the placement of Buddy this December.  I was thankful when Christmas finally decided to arrive because I have to tell you, Steven and I were getting very tired of thinking, planning, building, designing where Buddy was going to be placed every night.  Sometimes, I will be honest, we just stuck him in a lamp shade and called it a night.  I can't be creative for an entire month.  Buddy has taught me that.  These were some of the boys favorite locations this month.

Location 1: In a tree looking for, wait for it....BIGFOOT.  I wished we could have found some small binoculars but we couldn't.  Buddy was given a flashlight and placed in a tree to find the elusive creature.

Location 2: Eating Will's gingerbread house he made at school.  I thought Will might be upset with Buddy for destroying a section of his house, but he wasn'tHe just laughed and asked Buddy if it was tasty!

Location 3: Playing football.  Of couse in this house playing football is as common as looking for Bigfoot.  Will was upset with Buddy right away because he noticed Buddy was sitting down.  He said to him, "You can't make touchdowns sitting down.  You have to get up and move! Here, let me show you some plays!"  Oh geez!

Location 4: Playing Memory.  Will loves this game and got a big kick out of Buddy and George playing.  He immediately went up to them and counted each of their winnings.  They had 3 each and were tied and he was happy with that.  The game lasted about 2 hours more until Owen couldn't control himself any longer and had to "play" with Buddy.  Buddy is not to to be touched so he had to move to a higher shelf in the house for the rest of the day.

Location 5: Buddy toilet papered our Christmas tree!  Oh, both boys loved this one.  Buddy even had a strand of paper still stuck to his hand from his naughty adventures over the evening.  Bad Buddy!

Location 6 and 7: Buddy and his friends decided one night to get a mean game of Poker on.  He invited Bear, George, and Spongebob to play with him.  I provided some snacks and drinks, Steven provided the chips and cards and they had a great night of poker playing.  Bear even had to bring out the "hard drinks" as the night wore on because this Poker game was stressing him out.  To find out what happened to the Poker game, just read the ending of Location 4 again and you will find out where Buddy had to move after a few hours of Poker playing.

Location 8: Buddy was a bad elf AGAIN and turned the milk BLUE!  Of course, in our house if you know my boys at all you know why Buddy decided to make the milk blue.  No other color in this household would do.  The boys actually LIKED the blue milk so much they didn't want to use it and I had to go buy more milk.  Fail Buddy Fail!

Location 9:  Buddy was a nice elf one night and drew the boys favorite things.  Steven worked hard on this one and I will not take any credit because I can hardly draw a decent stick person.  The boys, in particular Owen, loved their drawings.  Who wouldn't love a cool Spiderman drawing like that drawn for you by your very own elf?  That's just super awesome!

Hopefully next year we can come up with some more fun, naughty, and silly locations.  For this year, I am just glad it is over:)  Buddy has now flown back to the North Pole for another 11 months.  The boys were sad but understood he had to go back home to his family.  Now, on to my family and enjoying the rest of this wonderful break......Merry Christmas!
