A Heart of a Champion

Saturday morning we woke bright and early to head to downtown Tulsa to support our friend, Gavin, in the Tulsa Heart Walk.

Gavin (and his family) are amazingly strong, faith believing, and truth seeking people.  I honestly can say that I hope if ever in the situation with one of my children that they have been (for almost 10 years) that I would be able to handle it with as much grace, compassion, and strength that they show.

Gavin was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS).  Basically, he has half a heart.  He has a pacemaker and has had more open heart surgeries than I can count.  Never does he lose hope.  Never does he falter in his faith.  Never does he give up.

We went to the walk in honor of him and many others who have lost their battle with HLHS and other heart related issues.

Quite the crowd (around 85) showed up for Gavin.  Will and Gavin met in Kindergarten and it's always so great to see this little kids show up again year after year (most of which don't even go to school with G anymore).  Will loved seeing his Kindergarten and 1st grade buddies.

We love you G and are so happy to support you in any endeavor.  You are one amazing kid and one that we are blessed to know!
