Another Year, Another Patch

What a difference a year makes. I say it all the time. Just when I think Will looks little and still such a small boy, I will look back to the same time last year and get shocked all over again. My boys are actually growing! Of course, I know this is going to happen but seeing as how I am with them EVERYDAY I don't think I can see it happening so quickly! Last year at the Patch Owen was about 3 months old. We took a family photo:

Can you see him in there? He is hiding in Daddy's arms. Will look's little now compared to the same place, and only one year later:

Actually I see more difference in the O man as far as size...but hey, my 4 year old who weighs 31 pounds (on a great day) is growing too, isn't he?

I leave you with Owen in the wagon. Will wanted to push him. This lasted all of one push, when Owen fell out, and Will gave up. Balancing on both parties was required and NOT gonna happen. Happy fall!

My Big Boy

Look at this sweet boy! I just can't get enough of him and everyday (even when I don't feel like it) I thank the Lord that I am able to stay home with him, teach him, and encourage him in the way of the world. He brings such joy to my heart as his Momma and I am so very proud of him in all the things that he does. I love my Will Parker!

My First 5K

It is official! Check it off my list. Done and completed and all money made going towards the cure for cancer. 15,000 other people joined me along with my sister, cousin, aunt, and mom.

Please excuse the way we might look in this picture. This was taken very early and after only about 5 hours of sleep the night before enjoying some girl time! It is not very often we can get together with husbands or kids and just sit and talk. Cupcakes added to the fun of the evening. (We worked them off the next morning I think!)

We all survived the race and had fun while doing it (I know I did. Guess I can't speak for everyone else!)

I felt left out of this picture seeing as how I was stuck in the back of my sister's SUV (a.k.a minivan:) They took one of me too to prove I made it out alive!

Now onto next weekend....the Tulsa Zoo Run!!

Two Little Busy Boys

My boys are busy. There is no doubt. They are so fun though and keep me entertained every step along the way. First there is Will. Not too interested in food. Not too interested in much reading. Loves to do puzzles and play Hi Ho Cherry O, Candy Land, and Memory. Loves to color, paint, play stickers, and throw any kind of ball around. As for TV...his favorite is Spongebob. Loves that little yellow sponge with a fierce type of devotion! He has Spongebob pj's (has now outgrown and I need to buy more), a Spongebob pillow, and watches him every chance he has. Needless to say, when we walked in Chick-Fil-A the other day and this was displayed, he went NUTS!

Now, on to Owen. He does love food. Every piece of food he can get in his mouth he will try to devour. Things that aren't even food he loves to try! ie. the strings on all of my throw pillows all over the house. Everyday those are being pulled out of his mouth on an hourly basis. He loves to copy all that is brother does. Throws balls and toys just like Will. He "calls" for his brother whenever Will is missing. I have no idea what he is saying but he says the same thing over and over until Will suddenly appears again and then Owen is satisfied. It is cute to watch and hear:) So needless to say, when Owen's love appeared today (in the food form) he went NUTS on a different level!

My "Little" OU Fan

I figured it was time for a blog about my little O man. He is getting so big and sometimes I look at him and just can't believe how old he is getting:( He loves OU too. Of course, in this family you don't really have much of a choice in that matter. Truth be told, he just likes football and watching any kind of sports on TV already. He loves to tackle his Daddy and brother and does so on a daily basis. I think he might actually be able to do some damage to Will here in about a year or so. He tackles and grins. He pushes people over and grins. He plays hard and grins. He falls off the bed, smacks his head, whines, and then...grins. He is such a happy sweet love of my life. See below to see what I mean:

Will's First OU Game

HE HAD A BLAST PEOPLE! To say that Will loved the game would be an understatement. I think he had more fun than I have seen him have in a long time. Yes, it was hot. Unbearably hot for my liking even considering it is almost October! 100 degrees, 80 thousand other hot people, and 6 hours in the sun make for one tired and cranky Momma, but Will was fine. Go figure. He clapped, cheered, and walked more than I have ever seen his little legs carry him in one day:) We got to the game about 2 hours before it even started, walked a mile to the stadium (another mile home), and countless miles AROUND the stadium in the search for the perfect set of tickets. Once we actually got in our seats, it was waters all around, snacks not to be forgotten, and kick off time. It was so cute to see my little man enjoying the surroundings. We played Air Force on Saturday so he also got to the enjoy the fly overs from various USAF planes. Right up his alley:) Since Steven and I have not had the opportunity to go to an OU game since I was 9 months pregnant with Will (NOT Owen) we figured it was due time. Thankfully our team won, although not quite like we would have liked, but a W is a W!

Seattle-Vacation Part 3

Seattle continued (with the chily 57 degrees and rain) the last part of our trip. We had to find something to do that was remotely inside on one day because it rained the WHOLE day and was pretty cool outside. We opted for the Underground Tour. I had heard about it but didn't think it was something either of us would like. I was wrong! We actually enjoyed it a lot and the tour was mostly "underground" just like the trip promised! I thought this sign was funny behind me! We learned on the tour that at the time when most of Seattle was built at sea level (it flooded all the time of course) and had to be moved up about 8 feet over time. Anyways, when the city was originally lower all of the original signs on storefronts at that time were legally made to stay put. I thought it was interesting to see a sign that said hotel rooms were only .75 cents a night:) Good price!

Steven and I also visited the world famous Pikes Place Market. This market is huge and had the most beautiful, gorgeous, fantabulous fresh flowers I have ever seen in my life! Steven would have ZERO excuse for not getting me flowers if we lived in this city. The things were gigantic and all around $5-15 a bouquet. Amazing! We had fun at the market but since we didn't live there you really couldn't buy any fresh foods if you had no way of actually cooking them:( We did visit the first Starbucks (which are about every 3 blocks in Seattle and Vancouver)....this is really no lie! I didn't even get anything to drink because I was actually pretty sick of coffee by this point.

The last day of our vacation to Seattle we decided to go on a little road trip to Snoqualmie, WA. We had seen something about this city in one of the brochures. It was only about 45 minutes from Seattle and boasted a 270 foot waterfall. We got there too early and the waterfall wasn't even that visible because the water from the fall hitting the water below creates this huge wall of (you guessed it...water!) The sun had to come out and burn off some of this extra water vapor for us to even be able to see the fall. We went to tour the town for a few hours and do some shopping (I did way too much of this on my trip!). Once we returned the waterfall was much more visible with a pretty waterfall that lies continually in the canyon! The entire area by the fall there is a light dusting of water the WHOLE time. It feels like you are getting misted on and the cars were always wet every time we saw one. I thought that was funny!

This now concludes our vacation to Seattle and Vancouver. I hope everyone enjoyed my posts about our trip! Thank you, again, to both Grandma's for watching the boys for us! They were such a blessing and without them we wouldn't have been able to go. Sorry, but I am not taking a 1 and a 4 year old on a week's trip across the country. I am NOT that brave:) Happy 10 year anniversary to my wonderful hubby which was the reason for this trip to begin with! I love him so much!

Seattle-Vacation Part 2

Part two of our trip was dedicated to Seattle. We had so much fun in Vancouver, and were sad to leave, but Seattle was awaiting us! Of course, everyone asks "Did you go up the Space Needle?" The answer to this is NO. You might ask why, or you probably don't care but I am going to tell you anyway. The needle is $17 a person. $34 for both of us for just a few snapshots that I could actually get touring in other places of Seattle as well. Everyone told us that if we were going to go up a building to go into the Smithe Tower. One of the oldest buildings in Seattle and even said to have a better view, and for only $6 a person! Well, we didn't end up doing that one either:( The reason for this was we had the best views from our Argosy Harbor Tour of Elliott Bay and other waters around Seattle. We saw several islands, the Space Needle, shipping docks, and a great view of the skyline: see below.

Mount Rainier was beautiful and amazing to see the whole time we were there. I couldn't believe that here it was in AUGUST and this magnificent mountain already had snow on it. Crazy! Come to find out, thanks to our tour guide on the Argosy Boat Tour, that Mount Rainier is actually only visible to Seattle about 70 days out of the year. He gave reasons such as: cloudy from all the rain, the clouds actually cover the mountain many times of the year, haze, pollution, etc. The cool thing was is that the whole time we were there we saw the mountain! I guess we got lucky seeing it for 3 days in a row out of the 70 days a year it can be seen:)

Like with Vancouver, Mount Rainier really looks so much better in person. You have to realize this mountain is still a 2 1/2 hour drive away from Seattle. I can't imagine how large this thing would be if you were actually at the base of it and up close and personal. We were debating taking a day trip there but that was 6 hours in the car with traffic, and several hours there to visit the mountain, and we just didn't have that time allowed with our busy schedule. The view of the mountain from the airplane on the way home was awesome too. SOOO big!! God is amazing:)

The highlight of Steven's Seattle adventure was probably eating at The Crab Pot. The restaurant is right there on the bank of Elliott Bay. This bay is the deepest salt water bay in America at 1000 feet deep in spots. 700 feet is average. This information also thanks to our Argosy Tour guide! Anyway, back to the eating....you get there and they give you a bib, hammer, cutting board, and just throw your food on the table for you to go at it! Good thing I got something that took awhile to eat too because these meals take FOREVER to get into. Steven chowed down and I did some pretty good damage as well!

Up next, because I know you are all so PUMPED...is part 3 of our vacation (the last few days in Seattle). I will post soon!

Vancouver-Part 1 of Vacation Blogging

Welcome to Vancouver! Beautiful place of the world, I must say! I loved all the flowers, mountains, nice people, and weather. I thought both places we went (and Seattle) were pretty, but Vancouver was a special kind of pretty. This sign was pretty hiliarious we thought! Shouldn't all places in the world strive to be "a nuclear weapons free zone?" That's what Steven and I thought!

We began our vacation in serene Vancouver. Here is a shot from the top of Grouse Mountain. This was one of the places that several events took place during the Olympics back in February. It was cool to get to see where so many historic things took place. Grouse Mountain was gorgeous and took a lot of hiking to get up (even with riding trams!). Once you got to the top you had the awesome view of the rest of Vancouver nestled in Elliott Bay/part of Pugent Sound.

While on Grouse Mountain we attended the world famous Lumber Jack Show. It was very funny and had some awesome stunts done by both of the Lumber Jack's. Wouldn't you know it, out of about 300 people I was the one picked to come down and help Mr. Jack do a stunt. Ooohh, how I loved this...NOT! Me and my Jack won though, so I guess it was worth it:)

The next day in Vancouver we went to Capilano Suspension Bridge. Many people I know would not even begin to attempt to cross this bridge. Over 200 feet suspended in the air and this bridge is NOT still. I was holding onto the railings the entire time so that I wouldn't fall on the bridge and embarrass myself. Swaying back and forth the entire time! If people would jump on it a person that worked there would get on the monitors and remind everyone NOT to jump on the suspension bridge. I did not need that warning. I crossed and all was good, and then you realize that you have to come back one more time to get back to your car. Oops! Seriously though, we enjoyed the bridge and the wonderful views from the top and sides of the mountain. Flowers everywhere as you will see!

Vancouver, really Capilano, had some of the tallest and most impressive trees Steven and I had ever seen. We took a photo of them standing at the base of one of these trees. The picture doesn't do the tree much justice because they are just so massive in person.

Steven and I enjoyed Vancouver a ton and it made me want to go visit Montreal and Quebec next time we frequent Canada. Never been there, but have always heard fantastic things about these places. Next up...Seattle. (Whenever I get around to blogging about part 2 of our vaca)!

Free Summer Bowling

There are not adequate words for how much Will loves to bowl! He surely is his father's son:) Today was a sad day in the Kueny household, for today was the last free day of Summer bowling at our local bowling alley. I think Broken Arrow Lanes, it would be safe to say, lost money on this free program when it came to our family! 2 free games every SINGLE day in the summer. Who can say no to this??? We didn't go every day, but we sure went a LOT! I got some pictures, Daddy got video on his phone, and now I am blogging about how much my big man loves this sport! He is actually pretty good at it, but who wouldn't be with all the practice he has gotten this summer?? SOOO cute! Momma and Will had fun together marking the last day of this free activity. Which in Momma's mind now only means...."Great, now I have to pay for it all the time!"
