We just got back from our ski trip. Here is a picture I took from the top of the mountain. We went to Wolf Creek in Colorado. It was a very exciting trip. On the way up we were trying to beat the blizzard that was coming in. Well we didn't. We had just got into Colorado and Jackie was driving. The road was very slick and our SUV slid off the road and we started going sideways up an embankment. We all thought we were going to flip but by the grace of God we didn't. We ended up on the service road about 15' up from the main interstate below. What's funny is that we had just prayed for our trip about an hour before that happened.

So after that little stunt we continued. Next we hit La Vevda Pass, which from everyone that we talked to said if it's been snowing you don't want to drive on. Well we didn't realize we were on it until we reached the summit. We made it down the pass safely and from there it was only an hour to our lodge where we were staying. We thought we were home free but as soon as we got to the bottom of the pass they we ran into a road block. The road was blocked because a semi had jack knifed and then they closed the pass behind us also. So we got stuck in Ft. Garland. We stayed there for the night. The hotel we stayed in was run by a very strict German woman. For some reason she liked me though and gave me a hug and told me I was her new boyfriend when we were leaving. Jackie was standing right there so don't judge me :)

Quote of the weekend: When we were in Ft. Garland we went and ate dinner at the restaurant across the street. The lady that owned it told us about the semi. Kyle said, "Are you sure it was a semi?" and the lady said, "Well it's kind of hard to jack knife a dump truck." Hilarious!!!

The skiing was awesome but tiring. One the way back we got rerouted through Texas because Hwy 412 through Slapout, OK was still snowed in and to many accidents on the road. We made it home safe but it was a long trip.
