Bubbles Before and After

Both of my boys love to play in the bathtub. They always have. I can remember times when Will would play 45 minutes to an hour in there and the water would be cold, he would have goosebumps all over his little body, and I would STILL have to drag him out of there.

They both love to play bubbles while playing in the tub. I think it is funny how big brother Will has taught little brother Owen how to play properly with bubbles. Well, as probably as you can get for a 2 year old and 4 1/2 year old! Here is Will's before shot on the left and his after shot on the right.

As to not be put to shame...Owen had to take part too. You have to know that every single time Owen gets bubbles on his face, he says "Ho ho ho!" I think that is a pretty good indication that the 4 1/2 year old is teaching him things because that is not something that I walk around saying all the time:) Here is Owen's before shot on the left and after shot on the right.

Hope you have some bath time fun tonight with your little ones. If you don't have little ones....oh, how I envy the ability you have to just sit and soak (play with bubbles if you like) and enjoy a bath time all to yourself! One day...one day that will come again for me:(

Random Owen Shots and a Kangaroo

How's that for a title to a post? I couldn't think of anything else and those 2 things are what this post is about, so I thought why not???

Owen loves to climb. He climbs up things that he really shouldn't all the time. Sometimes I am fast enough to grab him, other times I am not. He has never fallen (yet) and I hate to speak this but I am sure it will happen sooner or later. He didn't climb to the top of the closet but Steven thought it would be funny to put him up there and call me to tell me to come find Owen. Once I got in the closet Steven made me think that Owen did this all himself. It freaked me out for about 2 seconds till I realized that even though my O Man loves to climb, there was no way he did this himself. Steven was beaming because he "got me" and Owen was beaming because he was thrilled to be up somewhere so high without us wigging out on him:)

Spaghetti (and most foods in general) is another thing Owen completely enjoys. I know most families out there have pictures of kids with spaghetti or some other type of food all over their faces. I actually did not have one of Owen yet and he is almost 2. Yesterday we were eating his favorite pasta. I had to snap a shot of the mess I have to clean up after every single meal every day of his life.

And now for the second part of this blog. Today was Father's Day. I have the best Daddy out there. He is always and has always been there for me. Our pastor taught us this weekend that a true Father does 4 things for his children. He affirms them, corrects them, protects them, and provides for them. My dad has always done these things and MORE for me and my sister. I must have the best dad ever:) Another awesome Daddy I know is Steven! What better way to spend Father's Day than walking around the Safari Sanctuary in 100 degree heat, with 2 hot sweaty and hungry kids, with the smell of smoking poop filling the air (literally all around you)! What Daddy doesn't want to pet/feed a kangaroo on his special day??? Here are a few shots of the kids with Steven. Check out how close you could actually get to the lions, tigers, and bears (Oh my!) I couldn't believe how you were just about 3 feet from them. Crazy! Happy Fathers Day to all the Dad's out there! We couldn't do it without you. Well, I guess we could...but who would want to????
What kangaroo doesn't enjoy some fruit snacks every now and then? Apparently this one. He also didn't like the Cheetos someone tried to feed him that were laying in front of his face. Geez...talk about picky!

VBS and the Kiddie Park

On a totally unrelated note...this is officially my 200th blog post:) Yeah me! I know some people are devoted enough to post a blog every day. I try, but usually my best is once a week. Sorry folks, I know you are overwhelmed with grief!

This weekend was busy. Super busy. Hot. Super hot. Fun. Super fun! First off, this whole week Will had the opportunity to go to his very first Vacation Bible School. He went all week with his cousin Ava. They had so much fun. I was so very proud of him and his ability to complete his first real "school" outing for the entire week with no tears, no fear, and no conversations about not having to go:) The theme was beach/surf the whole week. To close out the week of VBS Liberty Church had a water slide, snowcones, bouncer, and sack lunch party outside on Friday. Will and Ava loved this! I brought his swimsuit so he wouldn't get soaked in his normal clothes. Was I fast enough to catch him? Nope. I turned my head from devouring my Chick Fil A for one second and both of them them already looked like this: Oops! Will loved going to VBS, learned a lot of songs, got to interact with other kiddos his age, and learned about Jesus. Thank you, Liberty Church, for providing this for my child.
Next up for the weekend was a trip to the Kiddie Park in Bartlesville. The boys love going here, and really for a total of $17 (including 3 drinks and a cotton candy), 2 1/2 hours of fun...who can go wrong? The tickets are still only a quarter each and I totally recommend the park to anyone with children (especially under the age of 5)! Nini, Pappy, Ava, Emma, Joe, and Angela all got to come with us. Will was in heaven since he now had someone other than brother to ride rides with. His favorite was probably the roller coaster. Steven and I both love coasters, so it is only natural one or both of our kids would like them too. The O Man was still too little this year to ride the coaster, but he was able to ride almost everything else. It is funny how much difference a year makes. Last summer when we went Owen just stayed in his stroller almost the whole time, wasn't a good walker, and didn't ride anything. This year, he never stayed in his stroller, was running everywhere, and rode all that he could! Here are a few shots from our night at the Kiddie Park. Note that it was 7pm last night and still 98 degrees outside! Sorry for the sheen of sweat in the pictures:)

Our Anniversary Trip

Happy 11th Anniversary to my wonderful husband! This weekend we went away to Kansas City for a few days together and without kids. We had a lot of fun. We also took the trip with my mom, dad, sister, and my brother in law. This was the first time in a LONG time that we 6 have done anything without children aboard or even just together. This weekend was full of a lot of eating, shopping, movies, and playing dominoes. I will not divulge the winner because I didn't win:(

Friday started off with dinner at a Japanese Hibachie restaurant for Steven and I. Since this day was our actual anniversary we decided to go somewhere together. We chose this Shogun style place and we did not decide wrong. The food was awesome and we were at a table with another couple celebrating their 22nd anniversary on the same day. That was pretty cool!

Picture Nazi was about to strike again the following morning. Before we could all go and enjoy ourselves the Nazi (Angela) had to get all of us in shots together. Here are a couple of shots from that morning:

Look at those strong arms on Dad! Don't get in his way......

We went shopping at the Plaza and the Legends. I like both of them for different reasons. I like the Plaza because of all the expensive stores where I can find good deals. I like the Legends because it has a movie theater and 5 Guys Burgers and Fries. This is probably the best hamburger I have ever eaten in my whole life. Seriously delicious. So delicious that Mom actually ate it. A DOUBLE, I do believe!

We had a lot of fun this weekend and were so very thankful for Denise to come here to watch the boys. I am glad they had an enjoyable time with their Nana as well! Here are two more shots of our weekend together:
