Happy Easter

Easter is here! Jesus is risen!! COTM was awesome last night, as expected, and today the Easter Bunny visited the boys (or as Will calls him the rabbit)! The boys got all decked out in their Easter outfits last night for church. "No suit" as Will said while dressing him. I think he was remembering the wedding from a few weekends back and didn't feel like getting so dressed up as that time. Thank you to my friend, Andrea, for making the adorable ties Will and Owen were displaying yesterday at church. They got lots of compliments about how cute they were:)

This morning the Easter Bunny made his way to the Kueny household. Will was excited. Not too excited though. I tell you, it would take a moving mountain sometimes to get this kid TOTALLY excited:) Owen could have cared less about anything Easter related. All he wanted was the scrambled eggs everyone was eating. Will got Walkie Talkies and candy while brother got candy and crayons (both of which he will eat).

Here is a picture of what the Easter Bunny/Rabbit brought the boys:

Egg Coloring Activity

I realize it is early for egg coloring but Will wanted to dye some eggs today with his Nini since he will be spending Easter with his other grandparents. He has waited allllll week for today. He has been patient. His patience finally paid off and he dove into coloring full force. He had to be patient for just a tad longer when she got here because we had to wait for Owen to take a nap. Sorry, O Man, but you are not invited to the egg coloring festivities! Can you imagine the mess?? I dressed Owen in his Easter/Spring/Egg Coloring activities outfit though. He still looked cute even though he didn't get to participate!

First up for Will was the egg cooking process. He wanted to sit and watch the eggs boil the entire 20 minutes. Momma was not too excited about him sitting that close to an open flame. I sidetracked him to do something else while the eggs were cooking. That made me feel much better!

If you know Will you know that his favorite color of all time is blue. Ask him to color a picture...it will be all blue. Ask him to paint something in watercolors....the blue is used until completely gone. Being the good Momma that I am, I made Will pose with his favorite color as to document this time in his life when all is well as long as you throw a little blue in the situation:)

He had an awesome time working with his Nini and I to color all 18 of his eggs. Half of them are ugly as all get out. A few cracked. A couple were eaten. Several are covered in top to bottom stickers. He could care less what they look like because all he cared about was the fun he had creating his own designs on them. That's all that should matter, right? In a perfect world I shouldn't care what they look like. I STILL had to make my own egg though and make it all pretty just so I could say there was at least one good lookin' one in the bunch. Here Will is posing with one of his creations:Wellllll....looky there (it's blue!).

Lauren and Joey's Wedding

Will's day has finally arrived! He got to be the ring bearer at his Uncle Joey's wedding over the weekend. He was so super pumped! He enjoyed every second of his duties, and paid attention (as close as a 4 year old can do) at the "practice wedding". This is what he called the rehearsal on Thursday night! He loved to see his family, especially his Uncle Daniel who flew in from Los Angeles for the special event!

Weddings are a time for family to get together to celebrate two people who love each other and are ready to make a commitment to do just that for the rest of eternity. Technically, Joey and Lauren have already been married for 1 year. They just never got to have that special ceremony with their loved ones 1 year ago. Finally, that day came and the family and friends showed up to celebrate with them!

I know this wedding was supposed to be all about Joey and Lauren but I had to have a little special bragging time about my son, Will. I just couldn't take how much cuteness he was in that tuxedo. I almost couldn't stand it. I'm not gonna lie...when I saw him walking down that aisle looking all GQ my eyes were a little misty:) He took his job seriously and did a great job! Here are a few shots of him in action.

He wanted to stand right by his Daddy the whole time and DID NOT like it when the pastor made him come sit by me for the rest of the service. If I wasn't trying to get Owen to stop yelling for his Daddy during the ceremony (yes, this happened the whole time), then I was attempting to stop Will from crying because he couldn't be up in front anymore. I was a busy Momma during the wedding! Thankfully, Joey and Lauren did not mind a 1 year old screaming, "Daddy, Daaaadddy!" the whole time. Most thought it was funny. I was mortified, but oh well.

Once the service was over and Will could meet with his Daddy once again all was right in the world. They talked boy talk, I guess, and Daddy praised him for a job well done. Here they are right after the wedding was over:

I know my boys are growing up. I know Will is getting older. How old can you really be though when you STILL drink out of a Sippy Cup? I thought that was funny, so I had to capture the memory of him growing up but not TOO fast:)

Happy wedding day to Joey and Lauren. I hope all your years are filled with love and happiness. Hopefully when you look back you will remember this day fondly and have special thoughts of it to share with Sailor. Looking back on our wedding day almost 11 years ago, I can not believe how young and in love we were. We are still "young" and in love more than ever. I love my husband and now Lauren has a Kueny husband she can try to love almost as much as I love my Kueny husband:)

Zoo Day

I got real creative on the name for this post didn't I? After 4 hours at the zoo, 2 kids, 1 hubby, 85 degrees, and 30mph winds you don't get much more out of me:) The boys LOVED every second of it, and that is all that counts!!! The train is always a hit with Will as evident with his glowing expression. Seriously, that is glowing for W. He doesn't normally even look at the camera, let alone smile!

The goats had always been a bright spot in our zoo travels in the past and today did not disappoint either. Last year Owen tried to eat all of the goats, slap them, and cry every time one got too near him. This year was all different. He was doing his own "goat whisperer" type of dialogue with them. They didn't seem to mind. They seemed to even understand a little of what he was saying! Will was very interested in brushing the goats this year. He was so serious about it. He did a great job and then spent the rest of the time finding just the perfect size brush for his little brother. He found Owen's "baby" brush, brought it to him to brush another goat, and Owen just proceeded to stare at it and not know what to do. He just looked at the brush, put it back on the bench, and walked off to bother another innocent animal. Poor Will's efforts were all in vain.

One of our last stops of the day was the carousel. All the boys rode it. Momma can NOT ride that stupid thing because it makes me so sick. Daddy bravely stepped up and took the boys on the horses. Look how thrilled these 2 boys look. Owen had fun, he really did. You can't tell with this picture. I think it might have been the end of a long, hot day at the zoo and you just weren't gonna get much of a smile out of him!

Who cares how sweaty, stinky, and hot we all were. The boys had a blast, I got to spend some time with my husband (who I have hardly seen in 3 weeks), and we all made memories. That's what counts, isn't it? Brothers....so priceless!!!!

Park Day

Today was such a beautiful day to not take advantage of the great park we have here in our neighborhood. We loaded the boys up in the stroller, packed a lunch, got two basketballs (of course), and went off for some fun. Needless to say, neither boy ate great because the park, sandbox, slides, swings, and basketball goals were all in plain sight. It was the first real picnic either one had really ever been on and I think they enjoyed it:)

Tomorrow is supposed to be another great day. In the 80's! We can't wait. Sunday holds the Tulsa Zoo for our plans. I hope and pray that every other family in the surrounding area does not have the same plan for their Sunday morning. I was thinking we could do church tonight and then hang with all the "heathens" who skipped church on Sunday morning to hit the zoo instead. Sounds like a plan to me!
