My Monday McDonald's Date
I know I have haters. I know there are those Mom's out there that would never allow their children to eat at McDonald's. I know there are those that gasp at the "germs" and "grossness" of the playground I allow Owen to play at on certain Monday mornings. But, he is my little boy and won't be little for long. I have Monday mornings with him to go to the library and pick up big brother from school. Some Monday mornings I need to kill a little time, so this morning I took him to McDonald's to indulge in an Egg McMuffin (gasp here Mom's) and to help me drink my Mocha Frappe. I realize it's not the most healthy, but I also don't believe by him eating 3/4 of a muffin I am killing my child. Also, on that note I did wash his hands and sanitize after he played. What else can ya do??? He had a blast, had a full belly, met new "friends", and loved on his Momma. I enjoyed it tremendously!

January Stuff
Creative title, huh? I thought so. This January has really flown by. I blinked and now it is the 22nd with only another week of this month. Craziness! January usually brings ice and snow to this region so on pretty days like today, it is insane that we can walk to the park (568 steps...this is a whole other blog about why I count my steps everywhere) and actually play without jackets or anything. Will, Owen, and Daddy played a little pick up basketball this afternoon with Will "winning" because he can't seem to be able to stand the thought of losing. Sounds like someone I know..cough cough...Steven!
The boys had great fun and I even stayed for about 45 minutes until the 45mph wind gusts were hurting my ears and I made the 568 step walk home. Most days are not this nice in January. Most are like this. All bundled up, uncomfortable, and stuck in a car seat in Owen's case. Note the upside down sunglasses. He didn't care in the least that they were on improperly. He just cared that he got to wear them since they were Will's and Will was at school. Shh...we won't tell him Owen!
January also brought an extra special treat for Will at school. Last week he was chosen for Student of the Week. In Preschool this is a pretty big deal. We had an entire weekend where Will got to bring home the class animal, Froggy. Froggy is not real, thankfully, but he had to go everywhere with us the whole weekend. Then Momma and Will sat down and wrote out a little synopsis of what all Froggy got to do with Will's family that weekend. Will also had to color, cut, glue, and write his own All About Me poster to read and talk about to the class on Monday. He worked so very hard on it. I am proud to say that he wrote 99% of everything on his poster and colored the entire thing by himself. He was extra proud of his work! Here is one of the pictures I snapped of Froggy enjoying some Braum's ice cream with Will. The other picture is the finished product for Will's All About Me poster. Happy January to you all!
