Today my mom wanted to spend a little time one on one with the boys. Or two on two. However you want to think about it. We decided on mini golf, lunch, and play time. Tomorrow is another 90% chance of rain so I really wanted the boys to be able to do something outside today. They blew through 18 holes of golf in about an hour. Nini was
the ONLY one of us that scored a hole in one. Per Kueny tradition you must pose by the number you scored your hole in one with while holding up your number one finger. Must do it. We have all done it. You golf with us and make a hole in one? You will do it too!
After golf and scarving down some Taco Bueno the boys voted for Nini to come to their house and play. She stayed for several hours while I enjoyed some time that I wasn't being pestered or needed. Man, that's nice. In that time I got a load of laundry done, I mowed the front and back yard, I ran 2.5 miles, and I did my 20 minute ab exercises. See, I really enjoy her being here too:)
Hope you all had a good Wednesday as well!
I'm massively trying hard to over look the fact that we have to drive 26 hours round trip to get to a place so remarkably beautiful. It's obviously worth it to this beach loving family to make the 13 hour drive (one way) to the most awesome beach in Florida. That's only my opinion but seriously these beaches between Pensacola and Panama City are do die for. I would move there in a moment if our kids weren't so young, our family wasn't in OK, and if our livlehood weren't all wrapped up in our companies and flip houses here in Tulsa. After high school graduation though? I could be swayed. And I don't think it would be hard....
5 weeks. That's how many weeks till we leave for FL. So, to stay in fighting swimsuit shape I am still trying
to squeeze in exercise and/or running 4-5 times a week. Last night I didn't want to go alone and all the boys were at Lincoln football try outs. I called up my awesome 8 year old niece to see if she wanted to go with me. 35 minutes and 4 miles later we were done! I ran my mileage and she biked it. She only stopped one time to grab a drink while I kept running and then she sped up to meet me. She was a trooper and kept me going. I hope there are many more rides to come! Way to go Ava!!
Kids Bowl Free (a summer bowling program) has now started again! Yippee. For my boys, this is totally worth it for the summer. As much as they love bowling we could probably go every day but I just can't bring myself to do that. I think I'm doing a pretty darn good job just getting them there 1-2 times a week. Today was their first time and Will brought his friend Logan along for the ride.
The boys did great and had a fun time playing their 2 games of free bowling. It's not really "free" like the program states. I mean, the games are free. Every
time you walk in the door though they get you on shoe rental. $6 every time we go bowl for "free" this summer. I guess $6 is not too high in grand scheme of things but then the arcade questions begin..."are we going to play games today?" "do you have
our bowling cards so we can play games?" Let's just say if you know you are going to allow arcading also, it is totally NOT FREE anymore. And that, my friends, is how this "kids bowl free" program works.
I feel better now that I have gotten that off my chest...
For these smiles though, I would pay almost anything:)
Yesterday morning started out pretty chilly and wet with huge storms moving through. We had planned to go visit a local fire station with playing at the park after and a lunch picnic. We still were able to do the fire station part, but none of the rest. Since it was raining, Steven didn't have a
full day of work so he met us for lunch at a quick trip to SAM's. Thrilling Friday:)
The boys enjoyed the fire station. One boy more than the other boy. This was Will's third time to visit this station (I didn't realize that) so no wonder he was a little bored.
Owen loved it and wanted to try on every hat, coat, and walk into every truck and ambulance. I'm not surprised. This boy is all about adventure. As you can tell in the picture, he would barely stand still long enough for me to snap a shot AND he was talking. Since he is almost always talking though, I figured I just needed to take the darn picture and be done with it.
Happy Weekend ya'll!
Saturday was filled with more golf for the boys (shocker to no one). While the boys were golfing AGAIN, Faith and I took advantage of the hotel spa. Never have I done this before because I didn't want to pay $200 for a 30 minute massage. I didn't know if it was going to be that high, but I knew they were extremely overpriced. I splurged
though and did end up paying about $200 but we got a 25 minute massage, a 25 minute facial (AMAZING), and a 25 minute foot massage with scrubbing salts and soak. I didn't think that was too terrible for a first time experience!
More of Saturday (after the spa) was filled with POOL. Gotta visit there when it is so hot. My cousin
Kasey made the 2 hour drive from Tucson to come and hang with us all day. It was great to see her. She came and we had lunch, massive pool and surfing time, and
then showered and left again for another night of dinner. This time around it was Hibaji. The night before that it was a really cool local dive called "North". Yum O.
We had a great weekend filled with fun, laughs, friends,
family, food, swimming, golf, shopping, movies, drinks, sleeping in, and hanging out. It was awesomely relaxing and I am super thankful for Steven's mom who came from Norman to watch the boys the whole time. Thank you Nana!!!
Here's to next anniversary. It's Number 15! We've been
saving for 5 years to go to Italy. Not totally there yet financially but sure hope we are in one years time. I've been wanting and dreaming about that country for decades!! Here's hoping!
Happy Anniversary to my wonderful hubby. I love you to the moon and back!
As many of you know this last weekend was our anniversary. We love to travel. We both would travel way more if our life wasn't so crazy and our boys not so young. Sometimes the boys go with us, sometimes they stay
home. Since Will technically wasn't even finished with school yet, and it was our anniversary, we decided to take a quick Thur-Sun trip to Scottsdale. We snagged some of our best friends to go with us too! Double score!
Who wouldn't want this awesome view? This was a panoramic picture off our
balcony. Quite a beautiful site. Steven and Adam enjoyed golfing roughly 45 holes of the prettiest courses Steven said he had ever seen. It makes you sort of forget that it's 108 outside. Almost. When you can't forget, you
head to the pool!
Thankfully this resort had a fantastic pool area. Lazy river? Check! Water slide? Check! Surfing simulator? Check! Pool side bar? Check! Adult Pool? Check! We spent many hours in all of these places throughout Thursday-Saturday. Gotta keep cool, you know?!
After a full day at the golf course and pool..I Still think we clean up rather nicely. Our anniversary dinner was spent at Mastro's Ocean Club. Delish!! Stay tuned for Part Two...I KNOW you are eagerly waiting:)
First off, let me begin by giving a big shout out to my hubby of 14 years TODAY.
June 3, 2000 was a crazy hectic summer day in OKC. I wouldn't trade it for the world or trade going to a tiny high school where I graduated with only 33 people (2 of those being Steven and I). I first saw him at age 12 when he came to "tour" our school. We began dating our senior year of high school, broke up, made up, and the rest is history. 2 kids later, 5 houses later, 2 states later, and 14 years later we are still together and I love him so very much:)
His love helped us make these two precious guys. Last night was the first night of swim lessons. We had tried swim lessons before at Miller Swim School (who has the total
domination over all of Tulsa and surrounding cities). It just wasn't for us. Way too many people, not enough one on one help, too loud and crazy, and parking was a nightmare. I had heard about the ORU swim program and decided to try it out since everyone raved about it. Yes, it's a drive. Yes, I hate driving it 8 times in a row. BUTTTTTTTT....it really is amazing. By the end of the class Owen was actually going under water on the first day. Owen's version of "swimming" never actually entails him going under so those that know him know that's pretty good!
Owen's kind of swimming he enjoys the most is this kind. A slide, a hose, some cousins, his bro, the sun, and popsicles. I think this makes for a pretty awesome Sunday in his book. Heck, it would for me too if I wasn't too large for that thing. I would slide on it too:) Happy Tuesday all!
